About Us

Darcie Jennings, Founder and Head Trainer of CommuniCanine:

Darcie originally set out to become a veterinarian, but detoured into training dogs professionally in 1999 when a co-worker told her about an opportunity to learn to become a dog trainer.

Since then, her desire to approach training from both a humane and compassionate way has led her to learn from some of the top trainers in the field and to becoming an active voice and advocate for the dogs she works with and an avid educator for their humans. Her belief that there is no such thing as a “one size fits all” approach when it comes to training dogs, or any creature for that matter, has led her to always thinking outside of the box in order to come up with solutions that are sometimes just as unique as the dogs and humans she works with every day.

Darcie has a diverse background with dogs which includes, among other things, working as a vet tech, teaching and competing in agility, grooming, working in a pet supply store and conformation handling.

What Darcie loves most about helping her clients is seeing the confidence they gain from knowing how to understand and communicate with their dogs and the more enriched lives they lead together as a result.
