Darcie grew up having a deep connection with animals, particularly the dogs she spent time with. Her love for dogs has drawn her to many different jobs and activities relating to them, but she found her niche in the dog world when she started training professionally in 1999, and has since evolved into the relationship-based trainer that she is today.

Prior work experience with dogs includes:

  • Working as a veterinary assistant

  • Teaching and actively competing in agility

  • Dog grooming, including her own and family members

  • Working in a pet supply store

  • Doing conformation handling as a junior

Volunteer experience includes:

  • Training/socializing of dogs at the CRD Pound

  • Canine Good Neighbour Fun Test Evaluator for Citizen Canine

  • Agility instructor for the Capital Comets Dog Sports Club
