Dear Darcie,

Just wanted to drop you a note of thanks for all the help you had in making our new dog, Riley, become a welcome member of our family.

As you know, we adopted Riley from the Capital Region District Animal Shelter and despite his loveable looks, he came with a few issues we felt we had to deal with quickly.

Having had dogs in the past, we had taken various group behavioural classes. We felt that we had a few tools to start with, but to be honest we were not thrilled with the dominating style of training we had been encouraged to use. We really wanted to go another way with Riley.

When we inquired about a trainer, your name was recommended and our "gentle, reward based" training was discussed. It sounded like the direction we wanted to go, and after talking it over a bit more, we decided to invest in our new pet by getting some one-on-one private lessons also.

This is the best thing we could have ever done, and we wish we had tried this with all our other dogs. Having you personally come out and assess not only our family's needs but also Riley's, was a real benefit. Our first meeting was quite informative and you gave us a lot of good guidelines and tools specific to our needs and Riley's personality. You were able to break down the problems and apply the correct technique to improve the situation. It helped kick-start our training and our relationship. We of course followed up with a group lesson for honing the skills and socialization.

The classes were fun and informative and your methods were indeed gentle. Riley absolutely loved you and enjoyed the class challenges and tasks, which kept his adolescent mind occupied at home.. We found your teachings easy to put in to practice and saw quick and positive changes. I truly believe that we saw dramatic results in a relatively short period of time because we had the right tools and guidance to gently mold Riley into a member of the family.

We would highly recommend you and your techniques to anyone........and have already!

If I could say two things to potential new clients, it would be to recommend taking some private training, even if only a few sessions, and to adopt a gentle, reward based training method. The positive return on both of theses "investments" are worth their weight in gold. You will avoid months or even years of disappointment and this time will be better spent with your happy pet and even happier family.

Thanks again for everything and best wishes on the success of your growing business.

Sincerely,

Keith, Kristine, Cole and Josie Tamburri
